To count on ejection force, you would have to be assured that there is room in the threaded hole in the end of the screw, for 3 or 5 turns of the differential screw to be screwed deeper into it. I suppose if the socket was 10-12 threads deep. one could insert the wrench as the extension was being screwed onto the larger, coarser thread and make sure the finer threaded section is 3 or 4 turns from bottomed out when the tapers actually meet. Obviously I haven't gotten anywhere near that point yet, so far all I have is the two opposing bearing seats cut into a 2x2x1 block of steel. But with the drizzle, the belt of my air compressor is wet and slipping, so I am out of air to clear the swarf with. Quitting time for the evening anyway. I hung a sandbag from the range box on the back end of that big boring bar, so while it did sing at about 8 kilohertz, I did get that bearing block close to done, I need to locate & drill thru holes for the 10-24 screws that will mount it to the front face of the carriage yet. That, and I am using this work to fine tune the electronic fuse. :) Thanks Andy. Cheers, Gene -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
