ok the error is because the field power is not connected.
To deselect the second 7i77:
on the Mesa configuration page:
set the encoders to 6 (half) and the serial channels to 3 (half)
push accept changes and the second 7i77 will be switched to GPIO
accessible from the second connector.
I hope you are using linuxcnc 2.5.1 with the bug fixes
