Greetings; I see the tool.tbl now has a full complement of XYZ settings.
How can I arrive at a repeatable toolpost vs XYZ measurement such that assuming the toolpost is bolted down dead square, the tool 1 is then normally mounted in a QC holder that would put the cutting point 1" inward and 1" to the left of the toolpost center axis. In other words, what sort of a measuring setup should I use in order to stand a reasonable chance of thousandth inch repeatability. I have considered making a gage where the tool could be pushed up against a stop and tightened down, not to be moved if I had enough toolholders so I could premount every tool style at some point down the road. Obviously I don't have that many holders now, but that might be one way to attack. Comments? Cheers, Gene -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
