This is contact bounce, alluded to in another thread in the last 24 hours. I don't think I'd call it a bug. A debounce instance in your .hal file of about 5 to 10 milliseconds duration in series with the probe handles the contact bounce glitches quite well. Just don't go looking for contact at 300 ipm. I search at .25" and then back off a few thou, then do the final search at .05".
