I can recommend Vectric VCarve Pro, but it is expensive for what it is. Needs to run under Windows, but will output LinuxCNC-compatible code. Ask for a LinuxCNC or EMC2 post-processor, if there isn't one on the menu. I use it regularly for all sorts of jobs. Used it this morning for text engraving. Cut2D is cheaper, but might not have all the facilities you need for the job, depending on your design.
