He then clammed up and took the videos down, apparently he was applying for patents in Singapore, I think. Anyway, some others duplicated his design and then improved it greatly (mostly dealing with the model sticking to the vat). Then Michael Joyce started the VERY successful kickstarter campaign with the B9Creator. We haven't heard much from him, he is quite busy building printers. Fernando started spotAmaterials to make resins for the B9 and other machines of this type, and now has many formulas for different applications. He is shipping these from Spain. Several members of the Yahoo group [email protected] have built printers of this type, using different vat designs, and a few are bottom-up designs that use the surface of the resin to control the layer thickness. This requires careful leveling and resin level control, but gets rid of the vat sticking problem.
