Found it!!!!! An almost chance comment, in the [RS274NGC] section of the docs said I had the statement in the wrong section of the .ini file. One would, unless instructed to do otherwise, assume that it went immediately under the PROGRAM_PREFIX setting which is ~/linuxcnc/nc_files by default and setting. Moved it. Works. So now I can go drill a hole at 0,0,whatever, and calibrate the G43H99 offset. But I've been up since about 5am screwing with this, so I think its nap time.
