I have a machinekit configuration working for cnc machine I have and am needing to make a custom "cape" to connect the pinouts with some screw terminals to output to the drivers. in order to do this, I would like to move all my step/dir pins to a pinout configuration that doesn't have me crossing wires. Although the step pins seem to work regardless of what pins they are tied to, the direction pins have very odd behavior when connected to pins other than the pins defined on the default configurations (dir pins go low whenever the motor is moving regardless of what direction it is supposed to go and they flip flop high low at a frequency when the motor is not moving) so my question is, is there only a certain number of pin configurations that step/dir pins work with, or am I just doing something wrong in my setup to make my direction pins not work?
