Hi all; It is a no-go for this application because its output buffering draws so much power that it pulls the gemini drivers +10 volt supply, designed to run a 50k speed pot on the treadmill, down to just a hair over 5 volts, which apparently isn't enough to run the opto's rx cells on. It apparently needs a supply that can src 4 or 5 milliamps in order to hold up the 10 volts. So I've reverted to the old way of driving it with the C-41.
I've also found the cause of an intermittent refusal to start, my C41 when the pwm is shut off, still makes about 120 millivolts at the output, which is not low enough to reliably reset its need for a zero reset before it will run from a powerup. That is not enough to actually turn the motor, but my logic at that point has the power disconnected, and the motor crowbarred for dynamic braking when below about 300 revs at the motor shaft. I think I have a way to fix that figured out. Cheers, Gene -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
