I agree here.
Connect to a solid base causing the base to become a part of the machine.
Don't disparage the Chinese machines. My experience is as follows.
Machine is a Mighty Viper 5BC bridge mill.
She Hong in Taiwan built the machine. Mighty imported the machine without a
control. Mighty installed a Fanuc 15mb.
Bullet proof control.
I wanted to know what the machine was like. As soon as the three Chinese
men turned the machine loose after the installation I had Ed Johnson of
Johnson Gage Lab check it with his dual beam laser. Results were stunning.
Less than .001 roll pitch yawn in 200 inches X travel.
Less than .001 in 100 inches Y travel.
All 0's in 40 inches Z travel.
4 diagonals were less than .004 from each other.
Couldn't have been much better.
Bulletproof machine.
I was/am a happy camper.
After that any problems were minor.
That was in 1999. The Chinese can do it right.
Thanks
Stuart
