I have been waiting on a return call from anaheim. Sometimes when you get a little off the beaten path folks can't help.
Anyway, I am considering replacing what I believe is a 0.800" x 0.875" diameter 8 pole neodymium magnet(0.100" thick) with a ferrite, or other 8 pole magnet. The ID of the coil is 0.830", which gives an airgap of 0.015". I want to open the airgap, and attempt to use my own magnetic design without totally breaking the motor. I am aware that this will hurt efficiency, but not clear how much. Also, I have been puzzling whether or not changing to 4 poles would help dealing with a larger airgap, although If I understand correctly I would need to change to the 2000rpm motor to get equivalent performance.
