Subject: Re: [Emc-users] Step motor in closed loop

Dear Peter,

I'm back to you I've tried the confir with some change and still same I mine the signal feedback from the encoder work but no motion the motor don't move I don't know where is my mistake there is my config : http://melhima.free.fr/config.zip

If your motor does not move, I would trace the signals (with halmeters for example) that drive the motor. For example the PID output should generate a velocity command based on the ferror (and commanded velocity). This velocity command should cause the stepgen to generate steps at a rate dependent on the PID output (if the stepgen is enabled), so maybe the first step is to look at the PID output

If you can tell me what wrong would be very nice Also I have a question my have buy few time ago 2 motenc board from vital system for an another project with brushless motor Did you have similar board ? The motenc was working good but I can try an another brand to see Thanks for all!

First can you move this to the EMC users list as the EMC developers
list is not and appropriate place for configuration and setup information

Thanks Peter

I made your suggestion and Axis start without error but when I try to move
the axis nothing happen the motor don't move
If I turn the motor shaft i see the value changing in the axis and put an
error so  the encoder signal work
did you have a stepmotor closed loop config to compare what wrong on mine
Thanks again for your great help

I have a closed loop config that I did for a customer, its a little different
because it uses hardware stepgens
and encoder counters insted of linuxcnc
software stepgen and encoder counters  but the connection
details are the same:
