No, if the axis is homed, the soft limits are always 
referenced to the MACHINE coordinate system.
Touching off, (or G92) does not alter that coordinate system.

If you are doing advanced stuff like rigid tapping on a 
machine that is not set up for
homing, you are making a big mistake!
