Depending on how much current it takes to operate the relay, you might have to put in a small hexfet to amplify the 7i76 signal. You do have a supply to the other end of the relay coil I assume? Also, relay coils are inductive, and may generate a voltage spike when turned off that can be quite shocking to you, and to the 7i76's health on that pin.
