Hi all,

Trying to figure out if there's any way to run a motor, either a stepper or
servo, a given distance with classic ladder _without_ having a XYZ
configuration. I have a a sequence of things that will happen in a row in a
machine running today, it's all mechanical and relay/timer driven, all
these parts are getting old and expensive so I want to rip it all out and
control the thing with a PC instead.
In this machine there are a bunch of motors that are moving objects and
they are controlled by switches (run motor A until switch #10 triggers). I
want to replace these with and a few hydraulic pieces with new motors and
they are running x mm and then back.
Actually, it doesn't matter if the motor's are configured in a XYZABC
config as long as I can run them from the CL. Maybe it's the best way to go
because I can get zeroing automatically during startup?

Can this be done?

Ultimate would be to run the machine with a new GUI on top of the ladder
logic, controlling the ladder timers with a Glade panel. First thing first
though...

Regards,
Sven
