Hi all, A new version 1.7.0 of gcmc has been released.
Major addition in this release is the inclusion of the Hershey vector fonts. The source-fonts have been reordered, fixed and mapped to unicode(*). The Sans-fonts have been substantially augmented including accented characters for latin-type text and lots of special characters. Two text-examples are included in the distribution (see also screenshot on homepage). An UTF-8 strings is converted into strokes using the typeset() function and manipulated in space at will. The second change is the ability to control layers in SVG and DXF output using layerstack() and layer() functions. This is an addition for better support of laser-cutters, where you want/need to control ordering of the cuts based on layers. Also, a new library function is added for vectorizing quadratic and cubic Bezier curves. List of changes: * Feature: Add Hershey fonts and typeset function * Feature: Add text examples * Feature: Add layer capability for DXF and SVG backends * Feature: Add cubic and quadratic Bezier curves as library function * Fix: SVG attributes width/height are now set correctly You can get the new version from the homepage: http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc The updated documentation is online at: http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc-into http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc-man http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc-syntax http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc-funcref http://www.vagrearg.org/content/gcmc-library All documentation is, of course, included in the tar-ball distribution and now also added to the windows zip-file. As usual, let me know if you encounter bugs or have any questions or wishes. (*) fixing fonts is a work in progress. That said, most things should be fine. There is room for optimization and more characters must be created. Such work takes 5..30 minutes per glyph, which amounts to a lot when you have 300...600 glyphs for each type-face. -- Greetings Bertho (disclaimers are disclaimed) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Don't Limit Your Business.
