Don't buy or accept a free server that doesn't have its drive trays. Every manufacturer uses different trays and usually changes the design with each new model line. A freebie old server without trays can end up costing a couple hundred bucks. It's lazy IT departments who can't be bothered to work a screwdriver for a couple of minutes that are to blame.
