Won't that muck up the silica gel, which its micro-droplets will have to get by in order to get to the screw? Don't forget that the grease fitting port on the nut will have a fitting installed so I can add half a pump occasionally. So I'm not hugely worried about lubing it. I took the idler end bearing off tonight, its an nsk 6002z. Worth about $1.40 from vxb, but good skf 6002rs is under a tenner in C3 quality. I'll dis the other end tomorrow and see whats in there, trying too convince me its the good stuff, and probably order both in rs style. That s/b a dual AC kit IIRC. I have the base flange milling done on the nut stradling bellows fittings, should have the 2 of them done by tomorrow night. It looks like I'll have to make the end ones a little different as I'll have to thread the center holes in the bearing mounts & use short 6mm screws in just those 2 holes. They intersect the thru bolt holes that mount the blocks to whatever is going to hold them rigidly enough. I haven't checked that hole size, might have to use 1/4-28, or even 7mm cap screws. And all of which we've been exposed to all our lives. I've walked around waist deep in 2-4-d and 2-4-5-t while mixing it for sale to Iowa farmers back in the early '50's and have practically gone swiming in transformer pcb's quite a few times. Take a couple weeks to wear that odor back out of ones skin. And you just bag the clothes & take them to the landfill. But, we're still here, heckling the troops aren't we. :) > Airborne, silica dust can cause silicosis, which is almost as bad > as asbestosis.
