How many amps do you need to enable?
There is a dedicated spindle-drive enable,

7i76 has sourcing outputs, and the drive seems to be hard-wired for
sinking outputs, so it looks like you do need a relay or similar.
I say "similar" because you could probably use a ULN2003.

(One chip could buffer all the drive inputs but you probably want
one-per-drive to avoid linking all the drive commons.)
