Greetings all pyvcp mavens;
A short little paragraph:
Mutli label
An extention of the text label.
Selectable text label, can display up to 6 label legends when associated
bit pin is activated
Attach each legend pin to a signal and get a descriptive label when the
signal is TRUE.
If more than one legend pin is TRUE, the highest numbered TRUE legend
will be displayed. From the development docs on linuxcnc.org under
pyvcp:
<multilabel>
<legends>["Label1" "Label2" "Label3" "Label4" "Label5" "Label6"]</legends>
<font>("Helvetica",20)</font>
<disable>False</disable>
</multilabel>
I am assuming that in the example, those quoted strings can be anything
printable, as below.
But I've about wore out that spot in the u-sd card, but I cannot find a
syntax that works with this:
<multilabel>
<legends>["XJog_inch" "XJog_mm"]</legends>
<halpin>"XJog_inch"</halpin>
<halpin>"XJog_mm"</halpin>
<font>("Helvetica",12)</font>
</multilabel>
This does not generate any halpins
If I comment those two lines out, it only generates one halpin:
pyvcp.multilabel.XJog_mm.legend0
And there is not a label0 in the example, it starts with label1.
which is defaulted to true. I can setp it false, doesn't do a thing
because its actually displaying "XJog_inchXJog_mm" regardless.
So how do I make a multilabel with 2 strings and display one or the other
depending on the status of a halpin or 2?
'twould be nice if those few lines of the docs were completed to show a
working example. :)
Or maybe it doesn't work? And I've painted myself into a corner here...
Familiar territory, been there, done that. :(
Thanks all.
Cheers, Gene Heskett
