I see the 7i93 includes UART functionality. I have been troubled by the VFD's RS485 Modbus link. I had to strap a second cable solution onto my PC just for that.
RS485 4-wire transceiver control signals out of the card would be great, but a UART that just has Rx/Tx with no RS485 protocol would be a great improvement, I'd just drive it into a hardware RS232/Rs485 dongle. This would save the cabling problem. Does 7i93 work that was, and does LinuxCNC 2.7.10 have the capability to drive the UART now?
