I'd say if you were conservative and concerned about loosing data you go with the SSD and not a conventional hard drive. But the "EVO" is not cheap. You can find a pretty good SSD for About $50 that is big enough and close enough to bomb proof. As for power supplies, it is a very good idea to have a computer power supply and a motor power supply and not try to use one for both. If your current PC, the one you use just for general use still has a mechanical hard drive in it. Then buy one of those 850 EVO drives as soon as you can. Use it to replace the main boot drive on the PC.
