CONFIG  = "num_encoders=4 num_pwmgens=2 num_stepgens=4"

Because my 7i90's had been beat to hell by the noise, the num_pwmgens
and stepgens is more than required, but that 7i90 turned out to be good
once the 7i42TA's were added, so I could restrict those to 3, 1 and 2
respectively, without effecting the lathe. But I did want them handy in
case I had found a bad channel when wiring up this final attempt. The
extra 2 encoders are reading separate jog dials for each axis, mounted
on the new apron panel. Handier than bottled beer even.

However, a separate box for the pi and the 7i90 related stuff pulled all
the noise down to a few millivolts and it has not been a problem since.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
