I found an ethercat driver for linuxcnc
http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?EtherCatDriver and it seems to use
etherlab master http://www.etherlab.org/en/ethercat/index.php but unfortunately
only old kernel. It use rtai which might add another complication and i only
read about old version which is another problem.

Have anybody tried Etherlab master on a recent kernel lately?
Howto to get driver available in source into linuxcnc?

Soem work fine and process data seems to be both received and sent so this
might be another starting point.
