Greetings all; I got some "furniture" (for some very loose definition of the word) built, and brought the computer down and hooked it all up. Setup the water tank, put two gallons (not full yet, room for another gallon) in it and leak tested all that, looks like its tight.
No attempt to calibrate the scales yet, had to reverse the two that are working to make them move in what I think is the right direction. So pgup/pgdn move the spindle motor up and down. the up arrow moves the gantry away, the down arrow pulls it toward me. But the left-right arrows while showing in the dro, aren't moving the spindle left-right, signals are getting to the parport, but the knob on the rear of the motor is free, as if its not even connected to a driver. I had the cover off the electronics box earlier, so its possible one driver out cable is pulled off, those TB6560's have pretty small connectors. My back is done for today, so I'll check it tomorrow. I can see that I'll have a problem getting used to having 2 feet of Y to play with. And it appears I had put a 5i25 in that box, but never configured it for use. One of my "needs a round tuit found" projects. So one thing at a time, the onboard parport was working just fine, and I want that working again before I make another interface box before I start trying to configure the 5i25. Time to see whats in the freezer for din-din I think. Then the battle getting my lady to eat enough. I wish the rest of what I've ordered would show up. A set of 15 ER11 collets, 200 chips for my SC06 boring bars, and 20 short, 4mm mills. I need the first and last items to make the panel for the g0704's new interface. I love the relative peace and quiet of WV, USA, but supplies from half way around this ball of rock and water sure are a PITA.
