Unforch, all the mobo fan & pump connectors have switched to 4 pin
headers, so 2 of the 3 other, smaller fans are now idle, need to trace
it out and make a new harness I guess. Mobo book isn't exactly cs-101 on
that stuff. Up about an hour now, cpu fan has not got off its 550 rpm
idle. Sink is a couple degrees above room. I think I've built a winner.
Now if I could just get rid of the fires stink. That I suspect will take
time though. Turned out when I was salvaging stuff, there were 2 pairs
of usb-2 headers & sockets one totally destroyed, and another visibly
damaged by long time heating. I am NOT impressed by the 9 pin females
on the ends of those breakout cables. Generally flimsy, low contact
pressure stuff. Plug in something with a low battery and there is going
to be a fire, eventually. Its a bit like asking if freshly poured
concrete will crack, if is the wrong question, when is correct. :-)
