BOSTAR,
I used a Phase-II AXA-sized piston post on my 10" and later on my 12" Atlas/Craftsman lathes with no trouble. They held without any slippage and seemed to index just fine. Now, this was not just any crummy Aloris knock-off, Phase-II made good stuff in Taiwan, I think. I now have a knockoff ("Detroit Electric Motor, I think) CXA-size wedge poat on my 15" Sheldon, and it is fine, too. So, I think on smaller lathes will lower power, the piston should be fine, **IF** it is well-made. I think I'd trust any Phase-II unit,
but can't say for knock-offs of a knock-off.
