I doubt you really want opots on an encoder. The data rate can be VERY high. Also, I bet these encoders are already using LEDs and phototransisters. Just power the DRO from the same supply as the interface it is connected to.
The price is very good. I did not know glass slide DROs ad come down in price this much.
