Hey guys Got some questions here
as some of you will know I am trying to connect to a heidenhain inverter unit on my cnc mill the unit takes some type of pwm i think from doing research on it. https://www.heidenhain.de/fileadmin/pdb/media/img/622420-2C_Inverter_Systems.pdf I have never used that type of control only 0-10 v and step and direction. from my understanding of the heidenhain inverters they are "dumb" drives which is awesome. It looks like the encoder feedback goes to the main control and from there connects via ribbon cables to the inverter unit. (3 axis all in one unit.) there are 3 different ribbon cables for control going into it. I want to somehow splice a mesa pwm card into the system and read the encoder pulses on a 7i77 or something or actually probably a 7i89 as I have some of them now. and then use Halscope for tuning. the inverter should already be tuned to the actual motors for the current and torque. I have no idea how to connect to the heidenhain pwm inputs really but thought the way to start is understanding the different types of pwm available. craning my new machine into place tomorrow and trying to get a jump on working out how this heidenhain stuff works regards Andrew _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
