Andy, Are you confusing Inventor with Solidworks? Inventor is Autodesk's flagship CAD system and does use HSMworks for CAM. Then later the older version of HSM is moved over to Fusion 360.
Inventor is Autodesk's competitor to DS Solidworks. They both seem to have two CAD products high and low AutoDesk's low is "Fusion 360" and their higher-end is "Inventor" DS low is "Solidworks and their high-end is "CATIA". Inventor and Solidworks seem to be roughly aligned.
