The RTAPI is a wrapper that supplies a uniform interface (API) for all
supported Realtime (RT) systems.

So the same RTAPI functions work for RTAI (kernel and uspace[1]),
Preempt-RT (uspace)  and Xenomai.

[1] Yes, you can compile uspace with an RTAI kernel, but I can think
of few reasons to do so
