It is a tapered-pin hole diameter gauge. very quick to use,
not terribly accurate.
I have a set of fine pin gauges, just centerless-ground rods
(or in that size more like wires) from 0.011 to 0.060"
diameter. They were not expensive. I also have a set of
.060" to 0.5" pin gauges that are usually expensive, but I
got a set on eBay where the box had been damaged. I patched
up the box to make it serviceable.
