Well I've found a use for one of the Beagles. Downloaded the OS image for it,
added samba.

Linux beaglebone 3.8.13-bone81 #1 SMP Fri Oct 14 16:04:10 UTC 2016 armv7l
GNU/Linux

These folders are also visible on my windows network.
drwxr-xr-x. 4 root root 4096 Oct 15 2021 emu
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 75052904 Apr 17 08:07 emufile_a
drwxr-xr-x. 4 root root 4096 Oct 15 2021 mfm
drwxrwxr-x 4 debian debian 4096 Aug 24 2020 powerfail
drwxr-xr-x 2 501 501 4096 Jul 18 2015 prudebug-0.24

Notice the really large 75MB file? That's an image of an older style MFM hard
disk drive. At the moment empty while I wait for the cape which has the ribbon
cable connectors for attaching to a drive. The software uses the PRU to
decode the mfm output from the drive and create the sectors, tracks and heads
information into the pseudo drive.

Once it does that it can use a second set of gold plated gold edge connectors
to emulate the MFM drive on old computer hardware. No more noisy constantly
spinning drive and much faster seek times...
