kde's KMail5, setup as a local imap client, is searchable over the

Not true. But the diff is that I won't touch farcebook and its ilk with a 
50 foot fiberglass pole. I also have not been hacked, I've had a router 
reflashed to dd-wrt between me and the cable modem for a couple decades. 
Yet every machine here has the run of the net. Even the rpi4 running my 
Sheldon lathe can fire up firefox to browse the world. dd-wrt does not 
allow incoming that one of my machines didn't request first.  Security 
can be had, even with winderz. But I do not currently have one of those 
critters. :-)>
