I was curious if any other GUIs in Linuxcnc have equivalents to axis-remote?

The reason I'm asking, in Linux sometimes mounting or creating mounting points
for certain things can simply be a pain in the a**.

I've found it is much simpler to simply brows to what ever G-code file I want
to run using the desktop's file manager, which doesn't balk at inode
directories or other virtual mounting arrangements that are often used for
accessing files such as network files. Then right clicking the file and opening
it in Linuxcnc using axis-remote. This works wonderfully if Axis is the UI you
want to use for Linuxcnc, not so much for other UIs.

So my question is, are there similar simple method that can be applied to open
a g-code file from an external file browser with other GUIs in Linuxcnc?

I think this is something that the makers of most of these new GUIs in Linuxcnc
are really missing the boat on.
