Subject: [Emc-users] 5i25 failure
i haven't used my mill in a few weeks
now my 5i25 fails
hm2: loading Mesa HostMot2 driver version 0.15
hm2_pci: loading Mesa AnyIO HostMot2 driver version 0.7
hm2_pci: discovered 5i25 at 0000:02:01.0
hm2/hm2_5i25.0: Low Level init 0.15
hm2/hm2_5i25.0: invalid cookie, got 0xFFFFFFFF, expected 0x55AACAFE
hm2/hm2_5i25.0: FPGA failed to initialize, or unexpected firmware?
hm2_5i25.0: board fails HM2 registration
RTAPI_PCI: Unmapped 65536 bytes at 0x7f4d50353000
Driver probe function failed!
hm2_pci: error registering PCI driver
hm2_pci: rtapi_app_main: Operation not permitted (-1)
i rebooted and reseated the board
same error
you recon it's the 5i25 or mother board
Usually it means the card ID was readable (the 5I25 was found)
but there is a bad data/address bit so a full 32 bit read fails
Could be 5I25 or PC, You might try cleaning both the 5I25
edge connector and the PC's PCI slot (with isopropanol 99%)
took the card to a friends
he tried it in 2 machines
neither would even show post with the card plugged in
i guess it's back to a parallel port
Did you try cleaning the edge connector and slot?
