Well, customs might not have, and Amazon might not have sent the message.
I have had several similar messages over the years, and they were not
from Amazon. Friends have experienced the same.
It's almost as if someone is sniffing the traffic around Amazon and
other retailers, and the messages appear soon after.
OTOH, there may be some other reason customs randomly held your
package, and I could be wrong.

I got a msg the next day, saying that my card would be receiving a
refund for the exact price in a couple days. I've ordered another,
slightly cheaper one from another amazon vendor. Maybe I'll wind up with
2? I'll check the account about friday to see. Might be time to change
card nums.
