Qtvcp can use espeak. The CNC screens can speak out user messages or error messages (or anything else) The most practical thing is some of qtvcp test panels (ie. test_led) that can speak user messages based on HAL pin state. So if you need to test limit switches but can't see the screen - you can hear it and if you have more then one connected, then you can identify which one.
