I agree Andy,  The last time I had an endoscope  camera that actually worked (for about a week, then the next apt update broke it again)  with LinuxCNC, all my machines were running jessie.  Works fine with cheese in wheezy, buster, bullseye, maybe in bookworm but my only bookwork install is on the pi4b that runs my Sheldon,  but not in LinuxCNC.

That line in the ini file that starts it, always fails & adds 30+ seconds of failure spew that doesn't tell /me/ what the real error is while starting LinuxCNC.  So it gets commented out.  Lots of quite useful SW has been written to simplify job setup, I have it in in my axis GUI.  Does anyone care?  Apparently in the last decade, no.
