False alarm, a bit sorry for my lack of attention. Reread the first post and noticed that I had skipped the bottom part with hints how to start some basic config and check if lcec related HAL pins show up. I will go through that now as it seems that I have successfully finished install process - "sudo systemctl status ethercat.service" shows that it is enabled and active.
