Thank you for writing this, I believe it will be of help. > Would it be possible to bundle emms-print-metadata with the binary > version of Emacs? The relationship between Emms and Emacs has recently changed in that Emms used to be an independent GNU project, but now Emms is available (version 5.42) via GNU ELPA. The most common way of installing Emms will now become via the built-in package manager of Emacs. We are also transitioning away from the "shim" binary of emms-print-metadata by providing metadata via tinytag (already implemented) and soon exiftool. The advantage of these is that they are both installable via the package managers that are already available on people's systems. To wit, no more compilation and installation of a separate binary. Since Emms has been only recently added to ELPA, I haven't had the manual reflect this just yet. I want to make sure the way we distribute Emms via ELPA stabilizes before I document it. Last, but not least, if you send in patches to the Emms documentation I will be glad to work that into the manual. Of course it would also be great if you updated your article to reflect the existing and upcoming changes to Emms' distribution, since ELPA makes it even simpler in most cases. -- "Cut your own wood and it will warm you twice"
