i think this is a good idea. that way we may get mor arousal by
promoting empire-db and can show users already using empire-db how to
change their code to comply with the new release.

Yep we could write some tutorial when the exception handling has been refactored

Of course we should write an article ourselves and publish it on theserverside.
This however requires a bit more time.
We could take the next release as an occasion for an article.

Not sure that would help, best to find these articles is to set up
some google alerts...

Hi all,
I have added the following section to your July report:
"In order to graduate we still need to increase awareness of the
project through various channels in order to grow our community. This
means participating in blogs and write our own articles. We will set up
a discussion on how exactly our communication can be improved."
To set a good example I have also added a comment to the following
article:
http://blog.dynatrace.com/2011/07/05/beyond-persistence-how-to-
exploit-your-database-for-better-performance/
Found this article by accident from the start page of
http://www.theserverside.com/
And I have got another idea:
Why don't we set up a new web-page on our Empire-db website that
provides links to such articles, that we have commented? Every committer
should then be encouraged to provide at least one link per quarter.
However this requires the availability of suitable articles.
What do you think?

I don't know, it certainly would make empire-db more accessible and
more java-like.

Francis, do you think we could then take this improvement as an
opportunity to advertise Empire-db?

P.S. I know we should rather concentrate on increasing the
community
rather than improving the code, but after all I am a developer at
heart.

re: re: July incubator report
I have been asking for this api change since the start. So it's
certainly
not an esteam request. On the other hand it's not trivial to make
the
change. That's why I proposed thar rainer has a go at this.
