I really agree with that. Finding name is difficult (I must have around 40% of my classes' names that I don't really like in my current project).

The javadoc is also pretty clear about what happen in the open() method, so it is really ok to keep that name. Well attachHandler would be nice too ;), but it is really no big deal.

One thing I regret is the name of the DBDatabaseDriver class. I'd now rather 
call it DBDatabaseHandler.
But in the end it's just a name and changing that now is not worth the hassle.
