EMAIL DISCUSSION: "Young Women and HIV/AIDS"
18 February 2002  8 March 2002

The Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) and the United
Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) will be co-hosting a 3-week
email discussion on YOUNG WOMEN AND HIV/AIDS. Moderated on AWID's
Young Women and Leadership (YWL) list-serve the discussion will explore,
among other things, the following:

(i) intersections between youth, gender and HIV/AIDS;
(ii) emerging challenges and successes in HIV/AIDS for young people
(particularly young women);
(iii) best practices (e.g. advocacy campaigns, participatory research)
in addressing gender and youth issues in AIDS programs.

The YWL listserve is a vibrant on-line forum for young women interested
in human rights and development issues and individuals identifying with
the concerns of young women's rights. The primary aim of the list is to
share ideas and important information and initiate debates on issues
that affect young women in their different contexts. The Forum also
exists to provide a space for young women to articulate their visions
and perspectives for the advancement of the women's rights and social
justice agenda internationally.
