In response to Rich and Lauren's points about self-defense -- and expanding the definition, I too think this is important. And it reminds me of the work of Barbara Hart and Ellen Pence -- that all women resist (another way to think about self defense). It is important to remind ourselves, and especially keep reminding our communities that women resist men's violence, they don't "give in".
