SEEKING INFORMATION ON EU POLICY ON VAW TOWARDS CANDIDATE COUNTRIES

Hello,

I am writing my MA theses on EU Policy Transfer to candidate countries
and using the issue of violence against women to see how EU driven
policy in that area has actually been adopted and implemented with in
Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Are you aware of links and other
articles, studies, or strategies such as the changing male behavior,
that might be informative?

Thank you,
Lu

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ON RESTORATIVE JUSTICE STANDARDS AND PROTOCOLS

I am the E/Dir for a registered charity working in Nunavut, Canada's
newest Arctic territory. We have been working for the past 18+ years
with abused women and their dependent children. We run a 21-bed
Transition House that serves the entire Territory. (There are other
shelters but we are the only one set up for moderate term stays.) We are
also involved with Restorative Justice program which seeks alternatives
to court and the incarceration of offenders. We are very concerned
about the personal safety and security of female victims of violent
crime in the restorative justice process. In fact, we are of the
opinion, that violent crimes against the person should not be diverted
at all.

Would be very interested to hear other opinions on this. Does anyone
have standards and protocols established in this area that they are
willing to share?
Our program is spearheaded by the RCMP. Our Society wants written
standards and agreements with other helping agencies about what types of
crimes are suitable for referral, commitments to on-going training &
evaluation of volunteer facilitators. Ethics, confidentiality,
preparation of the parties to mediation. Etc.

Thank you

Trish Hughes-Wieczorek
