Here are the minutes for JAn. 15th
-went over guidelines for peer critique
-read "A College Story" and critiqued it using the guidelines we will use
tommorrow on each other's papers
-purpose: to describe things taken for granted in high school
and to
desribe things that are different and negative about college
-audience: students entering college
-structure/organization: no paragraphs or divisions, its a
list of
examples not arranged in any order
-comments/suggestions: adde transitions, weak intro,
re-arrange
examples to flow better, use "I" to tell story better,
personalize
examples to not alienate the reader
-homework for Wednesday: bring 3 copies of new paper and prepare for
peer critiques
