Subject: [Enigma-devel] New graphics

Hi everyone -

I'm Jen. I just recently found Enigma, and since I dabble in graphic design, it wasn't long before I decided
I had to try and create some new graphics for the game.

[...SNIP...]

When you extract the files, you'll have 3 folders: gfx32, gfx40 and gfx48 each with their own fl-leaves.png file inside. That was the easiest way to put all 3 sizes in one zip file without renaming them. Hopefully it goes without saying that you should back up your current fl-leaves.png files before letting my files overwrite them, just in case.

Question: how are the smaller images being generated? Are they simply downsampled versions of the higher resolution graphics?
(Just curious)

One more note: any graphics I make for the game are completely original, and I have no problem making them freely available to be used in the game. I have no need to retain any rights to them. I'm just doing this for fun. So if you need anything from me - a statement or whatever - to ensure that there aren't any
issues with the game being freeware, just let me know.

The best thing you can do is simply to formally licence the images under a GPL-compatible licence. (To do that is simple, just include such a statement with the graphics (perhaps in the email, or as a text file in the zip file)
a statement saying you are doing so).

You could use the GPL itself, but if you are not familar with its terms, it may be a confusing licence. It was intended for computer programs, but can cover other works; however, trying to understand what it would mean in terms of artwork without first understanding what it means in terms of a computer program
can be somewhat confusing.

I belive the Expat Licence is a reasonable choice. It basically allows use/ modification, sitribution etc. in any manner and for any purpose, with the sole condition that proper attribution be maintained.
The text of the expat licence can be found at:
