Hi
Till Harbaum:
now that i am satisfied with the tiltstick in enigma it's time to switch to
a device that's truly "tiltable". Thus i've started to work on the Maemo
port of enigma for the nokia internet tablets.
These devices have a screen resolution of 800x480 in fullscreen
and 720x420 in non-fuillscreen mode. Enigma of course runs fine
in 800x480 when using only 640x480 pixels. The guy who started working
on enigma for maemo even managed to get some screens to work at
800x480 like e.g. the level selection screen. But the main game screen
is a little bit garbled an the game itself is still 640x480. In non-fullscreen
mode the statusbar is off the screen to he bottom as visible here:
http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2007/enigma/
The link does not work.
What do you think is the right way to cope with this situation? Is it possible
to have the main game screen run on a non 4:3 screen? How difficult
will it be to switch the game from the 20x13(15) layout to something
different? Does this make any sense at all?
No other layouts besides 20x13 make currently sense as many levels
depend on this size.
And what about the non-fullscreen mode? IMHO this might work if the status
bar is being moved to the right of the screen. The most dificult part there
will probably be the scrolling text.
What do you think?
I did add a bunch of new screen resolutions for 1.10 and Clarence did
add 320x240 support. Starting with new screen solutions in the already
closed 1.0* branch is no useful idea, as you would have to do it again
for the 1.10 release. My recommendation is to stick to full screen mode
for a 1.01 port.
Concerning the window mode it should be possible to display the clock
and the inventory on the right side. I would help you after finishing
the critical parts of the upcomming 1.10 release.
Greets,
Ronald
