I prepared a first message to be encrypted to a new recipient whose key I had
retrieved from a key server. First attempt to send it resulted in an abort :

"Send operation aborted.

USERID_HINT aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Roger Dodger <roger.dod...@xyzxyzxyz.com>
NEED_PASSPHRASE aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 1 0
GOOD_PASSPHRASE
INV_RECP 0 <w...@xxxxxx.com>"

from which I took an understanding that something was wrong with the
recipient's email address. I tried to make sure it was identical to what was
shown in the Key Manager by careful typing but each time I got an abort with
the same message.

Finally, I copied and pasted his address from Key Manager into the To: field
and the message went on its way successfully.

I must have typed thousands of addresses over the years and I could not see
any difference between my typed version and the Key Manager version of his
address - no extra or missing space, no wrong case.

Is there some other possible explanation for the repeated aborts ?
